How Official Trump works

TRUMP is an SPL token on Solana, so transfers settle quickly and fees are paid in SOL. It was announced on January 17, 2025, shortly before the presidential inauguration, and initially traded on Solana decentralized exchanges before major centralized exchanges listed it. The artwork references the July 13, 2024 rally shooting and the phrase "Fight Fight Fight." The issuers state the token is not political and is not tied to any campaign or government office.

The project published a fixed allocation: 80% to the creators and CIC Digital, split into several tranches, 10% for liquidity and 10% for public distribution. Only 200 million tokens circulated at launch. The insider tranches have their own lockups and then release gradually, with the full one billion scheduled to be unlocked over three years, ending around early 2028. That means a large share of tradable supply has been, and will continue to be, released from insider-controlled allocations.

The issuers say TRUMP is a digital collectible intended as an expression of support and is not an investment contract or security. Holder engagement is organized through leaderboards: if you register a wallet and hold tokens, you accumulate a score that can qualify you for invitation-only experiences. Those perks are set and changed by the issuers, and the token gives holders no ownership, revenue rights or governance.

Risks to understand

  • Ownership is highly concentrated: affiliated companies control 80% of supply.
  • Scheduled insider unlocks add new supply through about early 2028.
  • Price is closely tied to news about a sitting president, which can cause sharp swings.
  • Lawmakers and ethics watchdogs have raised conflict-of-interest questions about a president-linked token, which could bring legal or political changes.
  • Fake TRUMP-themed tokens are common; only the contract linked from the official site is the real one.
