What is AIOZ Network?

AIOZ Network is a layer-1 blockchain paired with a network of community-run nodes that share storage, bandwidth and computing power. Developers can use its storage, streaming and AI services, and the AIOZ token pays node operators, secures the chain through staking and covers transaction fees.

Utility Lens

What AIOZ Network actually does

Offers decentralized file storage, video delivery and AI model hosting by pooling spare resources from people running AIOZ nodes.

Real-world usage
earlyThe storage, streaming and AI products are live, but there is little independent data on paying customers or how much work the nodes actually perform.
Token necessity
integralAIOZ is the gas and staking token of its own chain and pays node operators, though storage and streaming customers could in principle be billed in other ways.
Decentralization
limitedMany people run nodes, but the core team builds the products and half of all new issuance flows to a treasury it influences.
Track record
provenThe mainnet has run since December 2021, roughly five years, with no widely reported major exploit.

How we rate

What it’s used for

Node operators install AIOZ software on their computers and earn AIOZ for contributing storage, bandwidth and compute. Developers can use AIOZ Storage, an S3-compatible object store, AIOZ Pin for IPFS files, AIOZ Stream for video, and AIOZ AI, a marketplace for publishing and running AI models launched in 2025. Public data on how many paying customers use these services is limited.

Evidence of real use

  • AIOZ Network's mainnet launched in December 2021, and a 9% inflation rate applied from March 2023. Source
  • Under Tokenomics 2.0, inflation falls 1% a year from 8% (Dec 2023) to 5% (Dec 2026), and burns apply to 50% of transaction fees and 5% of node rewards and infrastructure revenue. Source
  • AIOZ announced AIOZ AI, a marketplace for Web3 AI models and compute, in May 2025. Source

The AI angle

AI role
model marketplace
What actually happens
AIOZ AI lets developers publish AI models and datasets and have tasks run on community nodes, with AIOZ used to pay contributors. The product is live, but public evidence of paid AI workloads at scale is limited, so much of the AI story is still early. AIOZ's longer-running products are storage and video delivery.

AI crypto, explained

How AIOZ Network works

AIOZ combines a blockchain with a network of edge nodes. The blockchain is built with the Cosmos SDK and Tendermint consensus but also runs the Ethereum Virtual Machine, so developers can deploy familiar Solidity smart contracts. Validators stake AIOZ to produce blocks, and token holders can delegate to them for a share of rewards. AIOZ tokens also exist on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain and can be bridged to the native chain.

The edge nodes are ordinary computers whose owners run AIOZ software. They store pieces of files, relay video segments to nearby viewers and, more recently, run AI tasks routed through AIOZ AI. Nodes earn AIOZ for this work. The network packages that capacity into developer services: S3-compatible storage, IPFS pinning, video streaming and an AI marketplace where developers can publish models and datasets and others can run them.

Tokenomics 2.0, introduced in December 2023, sets the issuance schedule. Inflation was cut by one percentage point each December until it reached a long-term rate of 5% in December 2026. Half of new tokens go to validators and delegators and half to the network treasury. To offset that inflation, the protocol burns half of all transaction fees, plus 5% of node rewards, 5% of infrastructure revenue and 5% of revenue from AIOZ's own apps, so heavier usage means more tokens are destroyed.

Key moments

  1. 2021AIOZ Network mainnet launches in December.
  2. 2023Tokenomics 2.0 cuts inflation by 1% a year toward a 5% target and adds usage-based burns.
  3. 2025AIOZ AI launches as a marketplace for AI models, datasets and compute.
  4. 2026Inflation reaches its scheduled 5% long-term rate on December 25.

Supply

AIOZ is inflationary with no fixed cap. Under Tokenomics 2.0, annual inflation stepped down 1% each December from 8% in 2023 to a 5% long-term rate in December 2026, split between stakers and the treasury. Burns on fees, node rewards and service revenue offset part of that issuance, depending on usage.

Risks to understand

  • Ongoing inflation of around 5% a year dilutes holders who do not stake unless burns from real usage offset it.
  • There is little independent data on paying demand for AIOZ's storage, streaming or AI services.
  • The core team and treasury have significant influence over the network's direction.
  • The project competes with established players in storage (Filecoin, cloud providers) and AI compute.

AIOZ Network FAQ

Is AIOZ an AI token or a storage token?

Both. It started with storage and video delivery and added an AI model marketplace in 2025, all powered by the same community nodes.

Does the AIOZ supply have a cap?

No. New tokens are issued each year, with inflation scheduled to settle at 5% from December 2026, partly offset by burns.

Can I earn AIOZ by running a node?

Yes, the project lets people run node software on their computers and earn AIOZ for sharing resources. Earnings depend on the work your node actually does and on the token's price.
