What is Gensyn?

Gensyn is a network for machine-learning work that runs on its own Ethereum rollup and focuses on proving that AI computations were done correctly. Its mainnet and AI token went live in April 2026 alongside Delphi, an information market where outcomes are settled by AI models instead of a company. Earlier testnet products for decentralized model training have been paused.

Utility Lens

What Gensyn actually does

Aims to let anyone supply, verify and pay for machine-learning work; today it mainly powers Delphi, where AI models settle market outcomes.

Real-world usage
earlyDelphi is live on mainnet, but the network's broader compute and training marketplace is not yet in use and its earlier training apps are paused.
Token necessity
integralThe token is designed for compute payments, verifier staking and governance and is bought back from Delphi fees, though Delphi traders and creators transact in USDC.
Decentralization
limitedGensyn runs its own rollup and the founding team leads development and product choices, with decentralized verification still largely ahead.
Track record
newThe mainnet and AI token launched in April 2026, less than a year before this review, although the company raised its Series A back in 2023.

How we rate

What it’s used for

Today most activity runs through Delphi: creators set up markets on a question, traders buy and sell positions, and an AI model settles the result, with the creator paid in USDC. A protocol fee on Delphi trading is used to buy back AI tokens, most of which are burned. Developers can also use Gensyn's Reproducible Execution Environment to run AI inference that yields a checkable receipt.

Evidence of real use

  • Gensyn launched Delphi on April 22, 2026, with outcomes settled by AI and revenue sent to market creators in USDC. Source (opens in a new tab)
  • A 0.5% protocol fee on Delphi volume buys AI tokens on the market; 70% of the purchased tokens are burned, with most of the rest sent to the community treasury. Source (opens in a new tab)
  • Gensyn's training testnet products, including RL Swarm, have been paused or sunset as the project focuses on Delphi. Source (opens in a new tab)

The AI angle

AI role
inference network
What actually happens
Gensyn was designed as a marketplace for verifiable AI training, but that training layer is not live on mainnet. What runs today is verifiable inference: its REE tool produces checkable AI outputs, and Delphi uses those outputs to settle markets. The AI token captures value through buybacks from Delphi fees rather than through compute payments so far.

AI crypto, explained

How Gensyn works

Gensyn's founding idea is a market for machine-learning work: people with spare GPUs do training or inference jobs, and others pay for them. The hard part is checking the work without redoing it. Gensyn's research answer is Verde, a dispute process that finds the first step where a worker and a checker disagree and recomputes only that one operation. It relies on reproducible math libraries so that honest machines with different hardware produce the same bits.

That research now ships as developer tools. The Reproducible Execution Environment (REE) runs AI model inference so that the same model and inputs give the same output on supported hardware, and each run produces a receipt anyone can check. The Agent eXchange Layer (AXL) is an encrypted peer-to-peer channel for AI agents. Everything is coordinated on a custom Ethereum rollup that tracks identities, payments and verification.

Delphi is the first live application. Anyone can create a market on a question, people and AI agents trade positions, and a chosen AI model settles the outcome using REE. Gensyn calls these information markets rather than prediction markets. A 0.5% protocol fee on trading buys back AI tokens, and market creators earn a share of volume in USDC. The distributed training swarms from the testnet era are currently paused.

Key moments

  1. 2023Gensyn raises a $43 million Series A led by a16z crypto in June.
  2. 2025The public testnet opens in March, and the AI token sale on Sonar starts on December 15, offering 3% of supply.
  3. 2026Mainnet and the AI token launch in April alongside Delphi, Gensyn's first live application.

Supply

Gensyn's AI token supply is fixed at 10 billion. The December 2025 public sale offered 300 million tokens, or 3% of supply, and much of the rest is held for the community treasury, team and investors on release schedules. A share of Delphi trading fees is used to buy AI on the market, and 70% of what is bought is burned.

Risks to understand

  • The mainnet and token are less than a year old, and the token buyback depends on Delphi trading volume.
  • The project has shifted its focus from decentralized model training to AI-settled markets, and its training testnet products are paused.
  • AI-settled markets are new; a faulty or manipulated model output could settle a market wrongly.
  • Prediction-style markets face changing legal rules in the US and elsewhere, which could limit who may use Delphi.

Gensyn FAQ

Why is Gensyn's ticker AI?

Gensyn chose AI as its token symbol. Some exchanges list it under other names, such as AIGENSYN on Binance, to avoid confusion with other tokens.

Is Gensyn's mainnet live?

Yes. Its mainnet went live in April 2026 together with Delphi, its first application.

What is Delphi?

Delphi is a market where anyone can pose a question, people trade on the answer, and an AI model settles the result.

Can I still run a Gensyn training node?

Not at the moment. Gensyn's docs say RL Swarm and its hosted nodes are paused and no official swarms are running.
